Using famous Databases,Ei,ISTP,SCI, academic papers published by institutes under the direction of Bureau of Resoures and Environment, CAS from 1990 to l998 have been analyzed bibliometrically, including number of papers,number of citation of first author papers,number of paper per person in each institues,number of international papers,number of cooperative papers etc, ranks have been made according to number of papers of each institutes,number of citation of each first author,each paper,each periodical and each institute, this paper reveals the history and current status of fundmental research, and gives a comparative evaluation on the total st rength of scient ific research of each institute under the direction of Bureau of Resources and Environment, CAS.
