The Research and Design of a General Metadata Management System Based on XML

Abstract  

This paper introduces the characteristics of XML and some metadata based on XML,and mainly introduces the preliminary design of the general metadata management system based on XML,explains the platform and main feature of the system,also discusses the prospect in digital library and other digital area of the system.
