Multi-book Detection for Self-service System in Libraries

Abstract  

The existing multi-book detection systems are not sufficiently high in accuracy. A new multi-book detection system is proposed in this paper which uses cameras or monitors to track books borrowed(or returned). Straight line detection in image of the book profile and adaptive profile detection are described mainly. The experimental results show that the system has better ability to guard against some mischievous actions in its self-service operations.
