The Development of the Library Distributed Retrieval System Based on DCOM Technology

Abstract  

At present the existed library information retrieval systems are commonly based on C/S system, and some have adopted COM technology, to protect the software and hardware resources in library, and increase maintainability . Based on the theory above, we apply the DCOM technology, which is widely used in many enterprises application systems, to develop the library distributed retrieval system (LDRS). The system has strengthened noticeably in expansibility, stability, load balance, fault tolerance and will meet the requirement of large number access in the future.
