Design and Realization of Transformation  from MARC Data to XML Document

Abstract  

On the basis of the large amount of MARC-formatted bibliography data which widely used in the library system, this article analyses the data structure of MARC. The definition of DTD is given, and the system transformation from MARC to XML is designed. The author takes the library of Henan Polytechnic University as an example to realize the transformation from MARC data to XML document, which makes it possible to offer MARC information to WWW. This research is significant to the construction of the current digital library.
