Abstract

Nowadays, support for inter-personal or inter-organizational cooperation based on Intranet, Internet and Web technologies has become an essential part of modern information systems infrastructure. In the past, computer-assisted library management has focused on the development of task-oriented information systems on the basis of databases. With the advances of information and communication technologies, continuous organizational reforms as well as the increasing complexity in library management,it becomes an important present task to provide overall support to business processes and process- based coordination. The paper discusses workflow technology that is pertinent to business process management, and the application there of in library management.
