Abstract The current library information systems are based on Client/Server architecture, which are becoming more and more disadvantage under the distributed environment of Internet. P2P is a good alternative of C/S systems, in which each node is working as both clients and servers. The good examples are Napster and Gnutella systems which are proved to be practicable. In the paper based on the analysis of the current state and the features of P2P network, the author present several kinds of P2P-based applications in library information systems.
