Abstract  

On July8-12, 2002, the international conference Digital Library—Opportunities and Challenges of Information Technology in the New Millennium, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China held in Beijing. This paper summarizes the main ideas and practices presented to the conference.
