The Analysis and Comparison of Proxy Softwares for  Off-Campus Access to Electronic Resources

Abstract  

Off-campus access is a new library service, and it is based on internet and can be achieved by proxy software. The principle is to virtualize the off-campus IP address into a on-campus private IP address. By analyzing and comparing three typical proxy softwares: EZproxy, ISA Server(VPN) and Squid, the article hopes it may be helpful for carrying out the off-campus access in China.
