A Data Provenance Model based on the Double-helical Structure of DNA

Abstract  

This paper introduces the concept and the research domain of data provenance, explains the relationship between data provenance and scientific workflow, and makes a brief analysis and comparison of several existing data provenance models. Then, by borrowing the knowledge on biological informatics, a data provenance model is proposed which is based on the double-helical structure of DNA.
