A new analytic method for study on disciplines’ knowledge exchange from a perspective of journal citation networks is given. Using the method, the authors empirically research the knowledge exchange of international library and information science. The results show that some journals are main disciplines’ knowledge sources and exchange center, such as 《J AM SOC INF SCI TEC》. Some journal have a strong influence and control ability on the discipline’s knowledge exchange as main knowledge source. The “Invisible College” of journals in international library and information science does exist objectively. This “Invisible College” has four main schools:information science, library science, communication and information system. Moreover, the core-periphery structure is clear as the core of disciplines’ knowledge exchange. Scientometrics and information management are the core and the frontier of disciplines’ knowledge.
