Construction of the Distributed System of Digital Library Based on Z39.50 and XML Technology

Abstract  

Based on Z39.50 and XML technology, the paper intends to construct the distributed system framework of digital library and illuminate how to use Z39.50 as middleware in communication with database as well as how to develop the new generation of Z39.50 technology with XML. Moreover a new distributed system using XML as the database structure language is put forward.
