摘要

在简单介绍了什么是Z39.50协议，以及该协议在国外的产生、发展情况后，重点阐述了该协议在图书馆自动化系统中应用的方面，提出在目前情况下，更多的应用是在客户端，客户端Z39.50协议功能的使用是系统选型时首先需要考虑的问题，同时对选择新系统时应注意的其它方面也提出了建议。

Abstract：

The paper introduced the concept and development of ANSI/NISO Z39. 50 protocol in the world. And it analyzed the protocol application in the modern library information management system. 239. 50 client is more important and more necessary for most Chinese libraries. The paper gave some suggestions using for choosing modern library information management system.
