Application of Directory Catalog in Information Retrieval——“Pre-controlled” Intelligent Information Retrieval System

Targeting problems in information retrieval in general and intelligent information retrieval in particular, this paper proposes a “Pre-controlled” intelligent information retrieval system, which utilizes more effectively the
high-quality catalog directories of network resources and is designed to satisfy the need of average users. With the help of the graphic “knowledge map”, it can quickly and accurately locate the scope of information that users need, hence enhancing the efficiency and precision of information retrieval. It also analyzes the key technology to realize the system and the problems needed to be researched further.
