The Architecture of Federated Searching Engine and  the Implementation of Search Agent in .NET Framework

Abstract  

Frequently a user's information needs are stored in the databases of multiple search platforms. It is inconvenient and inefficient for an ordinary user to invoke multiple databases and identify useful documents from the returned result. To support unified access to multiple databases, a federated searching engine can be constructed. This article presents a model of federated searching software component architecture, and introduces  the  implementation of search agent module in .Net framework.
