Digital Rights Management Metadata and It’s Applications in Digital Libraries

Abstract  

Digital Rights Management metadata is introduced in the paper, ODRL and MPEG-21/5, the two most popular DRM metadata, are also explored. Besides, the applications of DRM metadata in digital libraries are analyzed based on the research. The paper argues that, the DRM metadata, which is originally used in the Electronic Business area, can not yet satisfied the demand of digital libraries in contemporary phases.
