The Research and Contrast of Hospital Website Network Influence Index Between China and America

Abstract  

This study uses two kinds of traditional Web Impact Factor(WIF)— the Total Web Impact Factor (WIFt), the External Web Impact Factor (WIFe) and three kinds of enhanced Web Impact Factor—the Outpatient Visits’ Web Impact Factor (WIFo), the Staff Physicians and Medical Scientists’ Web Impact Factor (WIFd), the Licensed Beds’ Web Impact Factor (WIFb) to measure and analyze the network influences of several Chinese and American hospitals whose comprehensive strength ranks on the top. By using the WIFs and the results of statistical analysis, this paper tries to judge whether the Web impact of hospital websites is related with the hospitals’ comprehensive strength. In addition, this article also discusses whether the WIF can be used as an index to evaluates the network influence of the hospitals’ Websites.
