| A Study on PREMIS Preservation Metadata Framework |

Abstract PREMIS preservation metadata is a wide accepted standard in the long term preservation area. The authors firstly introduce the background of the PREMIS project. Then give a comprehensive review on the preservation metadata framework proposed by OCLC/RLG, which acted as the foundation of PREMIS’s work. After that, the authors summarize the new ideas and data model of PREMIS preservation metadata and list the preservation metadata of each entity in the data model. At the end of paper, the authors conclude the characters and limits of PREMIS preservation metadata.
