| System and Features of Planets——A Long-term Preservation Project Funded by European Union |

Abstract This paper briefly introduces the basic summary of the Planets project, and makes a detailed description of the preservation planning, content characterisation, preservation action, interoperability framework as well as testbed of the project.The authors believe that Planets provides various tools and services needed during the long-term preservation, facilitates the development of the long-term preservation of digital resources, and it’s a good reference for China.
