Research on the Crucial Technologies of Information Retrieval on the Web

A mass of distributed and dynamic information on the Web has resulted in "information overload". With the flood of information, it has become an important research issue the Web based on traditional information retrieval technology. The technologies on the Web are briefly introduced and some shortcomings are pointed out in this papers. The future research direction are also discussed.
