Developing an Institutional Repository Platform via Extending DSpace

Abstract  

The paper gives an overview of using DSpace as a prototype system to build CAS-IR platform via a way of extending and optimization, which includes additional quick submission workflow, knowledge organization optimization, extended services, knowledge asset statistics, user management enhancement, optimization of user interfaces, and improvements of deployment in a production environment. It also presents typical use cases of CAS-IR and gives a short summarization of  experiences of extending development and explanation of future development considerations of CAS-IR.
