In the network information age, it is a prominent problem to organize and retrieve information resources effectively. Thesaurus, taxonomy and Ontology are of great value to it. This article introduces the advantage and key technique barrier of Ontology by comparing and analyzing the three methods, and applies information for the use of Ontology in the semantic retrieval.
With the development of user information enviroment and user modeling, reusability emerges as a vital issue in user modeling applications. In this paper, we present two existing approaches to deal with the reusability issue, suggest a new hybrid approach, and discuss some possible problems in the new hybrid approach.
How to choose more appropriate grid services with same functionalities for grid activities in the mass grid services has become a critical issue for the optimized resource development. AHP according with human logic judgment process is suitable to those situations, which have difficulty to compute the decision-making results directly and accurately, to solve multi-objects, multi-criterions or non-structure complicated decision-making problem. So a resource deployment algorithm for grid workflow based on AHP is provided to improve the performance of grid workflow.
User acceptance is an important issue in Information System (IS) research field. Previous research primarily focused on cognitive behavioral models and tried to explain and predict IS usage better. This study introduces and compares three popular models that predict an individual’s intention to use an IS: the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Based on the comparison, this study suggests the direction of the future research.
Personalized information service stands for the developing trends of information retrieval system, which emphasizes the pertinence and specialty of service. This paper analyses and summarizes several typical service modes, key technologies and their research status. Furthermore, this paper proposes a framework of Ontology-based personalized information service system and approaches on its main architecture and chief processing procedures.
This study reviews and analyzes the research papers on digital library in China with CNKI. The statistics indicates that the time series of the data basically accords with “life cycle phenomenon”, which can be fit by Verhulst equation. The authors introduce a fuzzy disturbance factor (FDF) and propose two new modified mathematical models named subsection model and filtering model for better fitting and forecasting. This work will advance the quantitative research methods in library fields.
In this paper, a new image retrieval algorithm in digital library is proposed. It is based on the combination of visual features and semantic contents, in addition to giving a dynamic similarity metric eguation by relevance feedback technique. Experiments on our prototyping system showes that it can get higher retrieval rate than only by visual features.
With statistical analyzing the classification and subject indexing on Chinese Agricultural Scientech Bibliographic Database to reveal the relation between the classes and index, the construction of agricultural light-Ontology is presented in this paper . Meanwhile, the agricultural scientech intelligent retrieval system is established, which uses the light-Ontology as the search knowledge base and the native XML database technology.
The Open Archives Initiative(OAI) is a protocol to promote the interoperability between networked databases, which works through metadata harvesting. The lowbarrier framework is relatively easy to implement, and as a result, it makes OAI very popular on today’s Internet. The article introduces the main technical features of OAI, and analyses the principles and cases of the OAIbased citation databases, which have the citation lists hyperlinked automatically.
This paper puts forward a method of two text categorization classes based on the pre-extracting support vectors and fuzzy circulated iterative algorithm. Compared with the conventional Support Vector Machines(SVM), the present method possesses much higher computation efficiency. This paper gives the concrete procedure of the algorithm, and applies it to the text classification. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and the efficiency of the approach.
The preference DEA model is put forward based on the traditional DEA model to solve the comprehensive evaluation, and to solve the same efficient DMU with the average cross-efficiency. The preference DEA model is applied to the evaluation of information system. The result shows that the preference DEA model reflects the preference and offers lots of information for decision-makers.
After study on the variable precision rough sets model, this paper adopts variable precision rough sets model to classificate the Web documents.β is introduced, which allows to realize various classification levels of the Web documentsat according to the user’s demand through adusting β value. The experiment results show that this method can effectively increase the classification flexibility under classification accuracy premise.

This paper attests that panel data can provide more information, less multicollinearity, more freedom degree and more efficiency from principles, methods, examples in information resource fields. Adopting panel data of the 31 provinces in China, this paper assesses the contribution of capital, labor and information resource to economic growth, among which the elasticity of labor versus output is the highest which is followed by capital elasticity, while the elasticity of information resource is the lowest of the three.
The library circulate apartment service system in a high school is inferred as a solid example. An operation model of this system is established.According to the assumption of the queuing theory ——a single stage service or one stage in series services is independent respectively. The Witness 2003 advanced simulation technique is used to build up simulation model of the existing service system,so the internal factor（the efficiency of the service system）and the external factor(the service request from the reader flows in the books stack )which influence the queuing system directly or indirectly, are integrated well. Based on the service system performance parameter’s reports in one clock-time, the optimal analysis is made,and one feasible optimal project is put forward combined with the real problem of resources rare.
