Abstract The technology of information push or information pull is not good enough to meet the user s individualized needs for active information service.However, Intelligent Information Push and Pull(IIPP), making good use of the advantages of the two above,can provide better individualized active infomation service for the users. This article discusses the theory and practice on developing the IIPP-based active information service system to better fulfill the user s individualized requirements.
