Metadata Standard for Audio Materials and Application of FRBR

In working out the metadata standard for audio materials, we should define correctly the objects of description, determine their relationships, and at the same time make clear the component elements of metadata in accordance with the characteristics displayed by those objects and users’ specific needs. The entity layers described by FRBR help us select a proper level for resource description, and decide on the relevant structure of the elements in line with the resource characteristics and user needs. Besides, the 3-dimensional structure of the FRBR model inspires us with a new thought on metadata structures.
