Abstract  

The paper gave a brief view of GLIS(General-purpose Library In tegrated System) ,a popular library automatiom system based on DOS and LAN operation system.Features of the system on special DBMS created for MARC data format,event driven user interface,data flow among the sub-systems,concept of user reconfigurable control files were discussed.
