Abstract The research importance and methods of management research of image information resources on computers are discussed in the paper. Some aspects such as organization, acquisition, expression, storage, retrieval, recognition, monitoring, sharing and so on，to which attention should be paid, are described. The proposal guidance are necessary in the course of developing an information management system of resources of image,
video, graphics, etc.. The purpose of the investigation is to make image information, their techniques and management systems more useful to the reconstruction of the socialist modernization of China.
