The Design and Implementation of Improved Algorithm for Network Topology Discovery

Abstract  

Three kinds of centralized automatic discovery algorithms for network topology are introduced,which include building network topology based on ICMP or port scanning technology and utilizing SNMP protocol to visit in MIB(Management Information Base)to construct network topology. Then a kind of better network topology algorithm is proposed based on the three algorithms which can discover network  topology accurately,unabridgedly and efficiently.
