Towards the New Framework of the Institutional Information Environment |

Abstract The trends of development of institutional information environment are discussed. Based on the analysis of information requirement in some major research institutes of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the authors point out it is important to construct a coherent information environment for the Chinese research institutes. A new framework of the institutional information environment has been brought forth and the software systems that support this new framework has also been given.
