There were basic features of ontology specification languages introduced in this article briefly. 13 important kinds of them were analysed and compared according to the framework formulated by Asunción Gómez-Pérez and Oscar Corcho, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The conclusion was: Loom, CycL and OWL were the better choices for users to mark up ontologies.
Based on scientific visualization and data visualization, information visualization is developing. Information visualization consists of three parts: structuring, displaying and interface. Information visualization in digital library can solve some problems faced during its development, such as information requirement and service individuation, information supply individuation. This article simply introduces application of information visualization in information retrieval process, information retrieval result and knowledge domain in digital library.
While the concept of digit-paper and the relative industry’s development, the demand of the application on the basis of digit-paper becomes more and more urgent. The key solution to meet the application is the content management of digit-paper. Furthermore, the most basic and the most kernel technologies of the content management of digit-paper are the information retrieval and text mining technology. The definition of DTD is given, and the system transformation from MARC to XML is designed. This paper introduces the exploration, practice and development of Virtual Reference System(RVS), with the emphasis on the design and technical exploration of the Page-Pushing module in digital library RVS in Nanjing Agricultural University. On the basis of the exploration and practice, the author puts forward that the realization of Page-Pushing function should be based on the ActiveX technology in Visual Basic 6, combined with Timer Widget in VB 6 and other widgets such as WebBrower, and thus developing Web sites which can realize the Page-Pushing function on the Internet.
