R&D on the Supporting Platform for New Generation Digital Library Applications

Abstract
The fundamental characteristics of the supporting platform for new generation digital libraries are proposed by conducting literary review, case study and requirement analysis. Then a novel framework for the supporting platform and its data model are designed in terms of theoretical studies, best practices and relevant standards. And the supporting platform named iDLib is implemented by employing several intellectual property rights owned by the authors. Finally, the new platform is deployed and tested on China Academic Library & Information System (CALIS) and its good performance proves the efficiency of the novel platform.

Abstract
Based on the PageRank and ArticleRank, the paper uses the times cited criterion and citation network to calculate the rank scores,thus establishes the PatentRank Algorithm. Then it analyzes the relevant digital library patents of the USPTO patent database and the results show that the PatentRank Algorithm can differentiate patents which of the same number of citations. The originality is a novel application of the PageRank Algorithm.

Abstract
The paper brings forward a talents description Web page automatic recognition system, realizes automatic recognition methods of university talents description Web pages which are crawled by Nutch crawl system. During the automatic recognition process, features of Web page URL, title label content, anchor text content and Web page content are used.The value of those features are computed based on matching of name list, positive feature word list and negative feature word list. Based on multiple feature values, the system uses LibSVM to realize talents description Web page automatic recognition.

Abstract
As the important role of titles of Web resource for information retrieval,text cluster and so on,this paper proposes a method to identify the titles automatically and quickly based on the style information(such as font) and location information of text which are used by many other researchers. Besides, it considers the relevance between the title candidates and text content. Lastly, this paper implements the title identification component and does some experiments to show the effectiveness of this method.

Abstract
Based on the practices for developing integrated resources and services metadata registry,the paper studies on the linked method the integrated resources,and proposes an optimized method using D2RQ to expose relational database of integrated resources as RDF interface, then uses SPARQL points to query the RDF interface and exposes it as Web service.In fact,the method can provide a good way for the future development of constructing integrated digital resources system with its rationality and feasibility.

Abstract
This paper briefly retrospects the development of open source Electronic Resource Management System (ERMS), introduces main open source ERMS such as CUFTS, CORAL, ERMes, E-Matrix, OLLARA and SMDB, then compares and evaluates these systems. Finally, some suggestions are made for domestic libraries, especially medium and small libraries in application of open source ERMS or development of home-grown ERMS.

Abstract
This paper gives a brief introduction about the history, architecture and features of the open source software Solr, and designs the architecture of the Chinese agricultural journals' abstracts retrieval system based on Solr. With the steps of installing and configuring the Solr locally, creating index data and designing and realizing the user interface, the retrieval prototype system is built up, which has functions such as multi-points searching, faceted navigation and retrieval, similar documents search and so on.

Abstract
Taking the virtualization cloud platform construction of the Library of Beijing International Studies University as an example, by analyzing and comparing several virtualization cloud plans, this paper proposes an implementation plan to construct virtualization cloud platform which is based on Xen Cloud Platform (XCP). The plan includes two parts: the base level virtualization service resource pool and the top level virtualization cloud management component. The authors also give some solutions to the key technical problems and the prospects of the plan.

Abstract
Aiming at the major defects of current folksonomy user profile mining methods such as mining user profile on the basis of binary relation, focus on the user profile of single-user rather than user groups, and focus on the static user profile but neglect the dynamic changes over time etc, a new FCA-based user profile mining methods for folksonomy is proposed. By means of constructing folksonomy multi-valued formal context and single-valued formal context, the user behaviors, user preferences and their transfer for folksonomy are analyzed based on the visual concept lattice which converts from formal context. The model provides a new idea for getting the user profile in folksonomy system.

Compared with highly-costed traditional attended monitor mode, this article designs a program based on camera images, with which unattended mode to secure the silent area of library can be carried out. Video and images captured by the camera can also be examined from the program's log . This program can lower library's, especially middle medium library's investment on security monitor.
