This research focuses on the basic model and technical mechanism for trust negotiation between friendly systems to support users without prior trust (authorization) to be able to access dynamically discovered digital library services.
The paper introduces several representative projects about heterogeneous digital repository interoperation. Combining the OAI-ORE specification and experiences obtained from existing projects, the author proposes the interoperation framework of heterogeneous digital repository based on OAI-ORE. The core of the framework is unifying heterogeneous data models of different kinds of repository by OAI-ORE abstract object model. It also sets up cross-repository interoperability layer with harvest, obtain and put standard service interface to mask the differences among repositories. Using this layer, the access and storage method of compound digital objects can be unified in different repositories.
This paper firstly outlines the history of DOI and its application. Secondly it introduces the core of DOI——Handle System and explains its concepts about namespace, data model and architecture. It also analyses Chinese DOI System(CDS) including explaining the relations among CDS, Global Handle Register(GHR) and Local Handle System(LHS), describing system design and researching the principle of DOI resolution. At last, the author points out the existing problems in CDS.
This paper analyzes some problems on library RFID standards, and proposes several proposals of standardization for library RFID date model. At the same time, the authors appeal to establish Chinese Library ISIL Management & Registration Center (CLMRC-ISIL) and Chinese Library Standards on RFID Working Group(CLS-RFID-WG), for publishing the first version Report of CLS-RFID-WG.
This paper conducts a thorough research on the metadata model proposed by ISO 23081 through the model analysis method.It also puts forward the basic conception of metadata model and its basic structure as well as the application in metadata standard.
The paper proposes a relationship extraction method based on HowNet and term relevancy degree. Firstly syntax parsing tools are used to extract context feature of terms, and natural language feature and statistical mutual information measure are integrated to compute relevancy degree of terms,then dynamic role and sememe are used as key to seek the relationship in HowNet semantic relationship framework, and explicit semantic lable is designated to the relationship. Experimental results show that the approach is effective.
Lexical cohesion provides an indicator of text structure and therefore, it has been used in many natural language process applications. The paper gives an approach of analyzing lexical cohesion based on HowNet. The knowledge of HowNet is represented in semantic network firstly. And then semantic paths are constructed heuristically between concepts of semantic networks by inference. Lexical chains which express lexical cohesion are found based on semantic paths finally. The results of tests show that the lexical chains got by the introduced method are basically in accord with human’s intuition and the precision is reasonable.
This paper analyzes the features and tasks of management software of traditional knowledge organization tools during the digital and Web-based process .Then it introduces and analyzes three representative management software and produces evaluation standards according to international standards, early evaluation standards and new developments of management software in order to provide reference to developing, selecting, utilizing such software and impel the application of knowledge organization tools.
This paper constructs domain Ontology firstly, and constructs user interest Ontology by the representation between user interest and domain Ontology, then construct user interest mode. It studies user interest Ontology similarity measure, and identifies the vertical weight by user interest similarity, the horizontal weight by time novelty. At last, it uses the improved weighted association rule algorithm to mine the concepts in domain Ontology, and realizes the cooperative recommendation oriented to content.
This paper focus on automatic classify the results from meta search engine based on Ontology. A pharmaceutical Ontology is established previously and a test model of automatic classify the results from meta-search engine based on it is carried out. Through this model, the author searches on-line about pharmacy domain and output a classified Web pages collection which are displayed clearly and systematically. Finally, the evaluation and conclusion of this model are made and the effect of it is relatively satisfactory.
The paper points out that there are two defects in the current study on university evaluation based on websites hyperlinks analysis, the first lies in the hypothesis that all links are of equal importance and the second is the fact that the data are unreliable. Then the authors design an FBS crawling algorithm, which can crawl different types of websites to different extent, and construct and initiate a quantitative study on the hyperlink community of universities of “211 Project”. Based on the data, the authors design an experiment in order to test the three SNA indexes which can measure the significance of notes in the network. The results show that the proximity prestige index performs better than the other two indexes. Combining the proximity prestige index with PageRank arithmetic, the authors then design a new index, which is called “UnivRank” in short. The final results show that the new index performs significantly better than the other ones.
To improve the current situation that research on sellers’ attributes has not received enough attention in the field of E-commerce study, this paper analyzes the E-commerce transaction data of cellular phones with Self-Organizing Map (SOM) and explores how the match between sellers’ attributes and the commodities affect the prosperity of the transactions. The findings will help sellers and manufacturers understand the market status and their own advantages and disadvantages, and they can take measures to improve their production and operation. In the aspect of research methods, the algorithm of U-matrix has been modified based on the existing version,then a new definition and display of U-matrix are proposed and applied to the data analysis in this paper.
This paper introduces the design and implementation of distributed secure proxy system of “Access Anywhere for National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences”. The system consists of a series of distributively deployed proxies that provide secure proxy services, reverse proxy services and control access, along with their management centres.
The cross-platform e-book application in Tsinghua Library is introduced. The idea of using standard interfaces in commercial systems like SFX citation linker to build such an application is proposed and the methods and technical details are further explained. At last, some suggestions are given on how to apply peculiar functions if commercial system to implement active library active services.
This paper designs a voice application using VoiceXML standard for library， and gives the system architecture and functional framework plans， as well as the implementation of key technologies. This system provides innovative services channels for the traditional library， so that readers can access the library’s Web database by telephone， thus it greatly expands the scope of the application and the service capacity of library.
According to the domestic actual situation which lack of Chinese language books links to network resources, the author designs a Chinese books resources storehouse platform based on open OPAC, and provide the corresponding API interface to facilitate the library OPAC system to use and integrate the relevant Chinese books information.
The existing multi-book detection systems are not sufficiently high in accuracy. A new multi-book detection system is proposed in this paper which uses cameras or monitors to track books borrowed(or returned). Straight line detection in image of the book profile and adaptive profile detection are described mainly. The experimental results show that the system has better ability to guard against some mischievous actions in its self-service operations.
The Web log statistics is able to quantify the database usage and utility factors in the evaluation of electronic resources. In this paper, the authors present an electronic resources log statistics system ERLS, solve the technologies such as the log pretreatment, choosing statistics targets and methods of the electronic resources and building report forms on users’ demands. The prototype of ERLS is designed and developed.
