Digital library must adopt distributed technology to process large amount of data in the library. Digital library may use uniform platform to solve the problem aroused by heterogeneous resource. Grid computing can satisfy the above two requires and organize the resource by virtual organization. Combination of digital library and grid computing is new developing trend. This paper presents the mutual region, hierarchical digital library architecture based on grid computing.

This article develops a theoretical model of machine learning based automatic text categorization, which is widely used in text categorization tasks. First, definition and architecture model of text categorization are given. Then, we choose SVM classifier as a typical example for detail analysis. Finally, a performance result is reported by the author through a Chinese text categorization experiment.

Theme retrieval is controlled category classification and a kind of new Web information classification retrieval method has been studied and realized. The precision ratio based on the new method is raised further when concept word retrieval has been located in theme classification by some experiment. There are different theme classifications for seeking same content information by some search engines. When the class name is not consistent with actual content, the information of different content may be found under same classification.
