This paper reviews the 13th European Conference on Digital Libraries (ECDL2009), introduces the features and trends of digital libraries in Europe and North America, including relationships of digital libraries & digital societies, applications of Web2.0 technologies, digitalized technologies of specific documents, personal information management, interoperability of digital libraries and Web archives.
This paper introduces Ontology matching technologies systematically in the aspects of element-level matching and structure-level matching, and gives a brief outlook of these technologies, such as automatic selection of matching algorithm, automatic parameters tuning, background knowledge discovering and exploiting.
This paper proposes an approach to identify term relations for automatic construction of conceptual lexical database, and focuses on discovering statistical and morphological features of hypernym/hyponym relations between conceptual words. Then it puts forward a feature-mixed identification model. The result shows that the model is effective on identifying synonym, hypernym/hyponym relations.
Because of the problems of regional information integration and data integration of intercity e-Government system,this paper proposes a new model of data integration based on deeply analyzing and researching the technology of topic map and Relational DataBase Management System（RDBMS）.This model creates a topic index layer between the application layer and data layer of intercity e-Government system through the analysis of RDBMS,OAI protocol for Metadata harvesting, automatic generation and merger of topic maps to realize data integration of intercity e-Government system.
Firstly，this paper adopts the methods of classification and description on Ontology, and researches the process of knowledge integration modeling by Ontology mapping and multi-Ontology management technique.Secondly，it introduces the structure model of knowledge integration and gives the example to test the process of knowledge integration model.Thirdly，the conclusion shows that introducing Ontology in the process of knowledge integration modeling can reduce defects of unclear meaning and guarantee the consistence among concept classes.
This paper proposes an integrated method to construct a new domain knowledge organization system based on the introduction about vocabulary integration. It briefly describes a preliminary construction framework with three steps, including vocabulary merging, integrated construction, concept specification, and discusses some key issues of vocabulary integration in detail, such as semantic integration, selection of current terms and evaluation of knowledge organization system.
This paper adopts the method of building user modeling and domain Ontology approach, and extracts the user information through studying and analyzing the user search history. Then the user modeling that consists of user Ontology and user concept vectors is constructed. The experiment shows that this study improves the order of the user retrieval results.
This paper discusses semantic similarity and relevance based on domain Ontology. By analyzing and summarizing the various factors of existing quantification method, it proposes and implements a comprehensive quantification model of concepts in domain Ontology, which takes full account of the semantic similarity and relevance. This model applies the quantification results to semantic query expansion, and achieves a good effect.
The paper presents the current status of full text retrieval system of the Open Access（OA） resources and analyzes the open source library Lucene of full text retrieval engine. Then it proposes and implements the method of full text retrieval based on Lucene of OA resources. At last，it also compares the system with Google Desktop search engine in speed and quality. The results of test show that the system is a bit slower than the Google Desktop， and the precision rate is higher than that of Google Desktop. So the full text retrieval system based on Lucene can fully meet the needs of users.
This paper analyzes the shortages of the existing re-ranking methods of the search engine and researches on the similarity between each document and the query, which refers to the other documents of the result set. It presents a re-ranking algorithm based on the inter-documents comparison and shows the documents to the users, according to the descending order of the similarity. The results of the experiments demonstrate that the algorithm has a much better precision than the current re-ranking algorithms.
The paper adopts the semantic matching technology combining with information retrieval method of semantic morpheme and expanded matching. It puts forward the theme information retrieval method which is basedon two kinds of similarity calculations to improve system application. The research shows that the information retrieval system is able to combine many advantages, provids a more flexible and intelligent search method to reflect the effect of a better knowledge services.

This paper brings forward an intelligent system which can automatically complete the evaluation of the enterprise patent value，and three evaluation approaches are included in this system. Users can select a single one or select a combination of two or three ones to make the result more accurate. The system has a certain flexibility that users can also change the weights of index and parameter.

The paper analyzes the main ways of current digital resources relation integration firstly. For the difficulties of resources integration in different domains by AJAX,the CGI technology is tried to solve across-domain problem of AJAX, and some XML APIs are added to resource system in cooperation with digital resources providers. In order to increase user efficiency in accessing and obtaining periodical resources, a western periodical navigation system is developed. The paper briefly discusses the system requirement, structure design，database design as well as the fundamentals and methodologies of the Struts + Hibernate Framework which is the key technology to develop the western periodical navigation system.
Using the features of open editing Wikipedia, group collaboration and version management, a Wikipedia-based research study of knowledge-sharing platform is built in this paper, which is based on analysis of the defects of the existing post-graduate academic education in the knowledge-sharing. The paper focuses on the introduction of knowledge organization, naming conflicts and sustainable operation measures of the platform for Ｗiki knowledge sharing. With Google site search function embedded in the platform, it overcomes the defects that the MediaＷiki engine can not achieve fuzzy retrieval and full-text search.
