The research and development of Scientific and Technological Proceedings Repository of CAS initiated by Chengdu Branch of National Science Library of CAS has made some progress. This paper introduces the detailed content and implementation of the repository from such aspects as software system configuration, system installation, Chinese retrieval function, interface localization, the establishment of repository metadata standards, the design of resources organization structure, user management, resources management and the support of OAI protocol.
Based on the need of developing a user education portal at Tsinghua University Library, DSpace is chosen as the base platform to build such a portal. This paper describes the main development and application and extension work on DSpace, including configuring main features of a DSpace installation, integrating local user authentication rule into DSpace, developing a lecture registration function, improving the publishing function and workflow of coursewares.
This paper introduces the meanings of the real-time reference and co-browsing , and emphasizes on the main tasks of the design and implementation of the co-browsing-based CSDL real-time reference system, and introduces the design and implementation of the co-browsing function. The workflow, the structure and the key technologies are reported, and the implementation is introduced.
Based on MMS_Cumulate algorithm and GP-Apriori algorithm, a data mining algorithm, MAR_LCR is proposed for library new book recommendation service which is capable of finding generalized association rules in the form of “reader-book” and allows the user to specify multiple minimum supports for different items. The search space is greatly cut down by improving the process of candidate generation. Experiment results show that the MAR_LCR algorithm is highly effective. Finally, a new book recommendation model is proposed.
As a metadata interoperability technology, OAI had gained more and more attention from various fields. And Arc, an OAI Service Provider for Digital Library Federation, provided an open source realization of OAI services provider. Based on the research of OAI and Arc, The research established Retrieval System of Agricultural Scientific and Technical Literature.
The paper analyses the requirement of syntactic structure and semantic roles of natural language in recent Chinese information processing, introduces and explores the FrameNet built by Barkely College of California University, particularly studies frame relationship in FrameNet database which can connect words into a net database. The aim of this study is to process the information as accurate as we can by using the relations among the words for information retrieval and extraction.
Based on single document, this paper puts foward an approach in which global analysis is combined with local analysis is proposed to extract the information of the query. By global analysis, keywords are extracted from the whole document to reflect the user’s research preference. While in local analysis step, query is disambiguated by extracting keywords from the text that is around the marked query. The results of the experiment show that the method above can reflect the query information more comprehensive and improve the relevance of the information retrieval.

TM4J is an open source Topic Maps engine based on Java.It’s a core supporting platform in the application development based on Topic Maps.The paper firstly analyzes the basic system architecture, main classes and core interfaces of TM4J, and discusses the source code about generating Topic Maps from XTM files using TM4J, and explains the procedure for setting up a relational database persistent storage for the Hibernate back-end using Ant. Finally, studies several existing cases based on TM4J.

Migrating data is a very important phase in process of replacing an old library integrated management system with a new system. It is often to encounter problems in this phase.
