To facilitate exploration of the massive amount of digital information, new ways of content representation are required. This article presents several examples and prototype systems that show how information visualization techniques can be applied for content representation. Through the power of information visualization, visual content maps can be created automatically. These maps extract and define information patterns, categories, and relationships among authors, concepts, or other information entities. The maps also support various interactive functions for the users to explore concept relationships and the underlying information. The paper also raises many questions related to content measurement, content structures, and visual displays of content and content structures. It is believed that understanding these issues will represent a significant step toward semantic maps for information access.
Majority of the available digital information are associated with some location or regions on the Earth. Traditional visual interfaces to digital libraries were not designed to deal with the unique geospatial characteristics of data, nor did they take full advantage of the georeferencing as a mechanism for browsing and retrieving information. This paper highlights the trends of visual interfaces to geospatial information, and suggests major challenges towards effective visualization of multimedia geospatial document space. Citing recent research efforts, we review the attempts to integrate document visualization (developed in information science) with geovisualization techniques (developed in geographical information science) to support science, information access and decision making. We conclude by a set of spatial cognitive principles that influence future development of such visual interfaces to geographic information.
Automatic methods for document analysis are particularly necessary in the Internet space. Indexing terms identify members of a class but constrain discrimination amongst them. The average frequency of a term over the document set is a simple function with an interesting visual friendly property which an interface could exploit for use rs to easily manipulate and find the context of content bearing terms in the full text. This paper describes anexperiment that confirms some useful possibilities of this approach. Some implications for visualization are listed to help users analyze document sets and in the construction of contextual information.
This paper based on the practice of the project, researches the means of dealing with pure text, which including the content identification and pick-up, associated modification etc, and realized the Pure Text Parser System with Visual C#. NET and Parameter Configuration System based on pure text with Java. At last, combining the application, summarizes the characteristic of technique that based on pure text, and demonstrates the value of it.

Based upon characteristics of Mobile Agent, this article constructs a personalized intelligent information-searching system. Customer submits search information to Information Mobile Agent(IMA) through Personal Intelligent Agent(PIA), and then IMA moves to destination according to the itinerary scheme, where IMA communicates with information warehouse according to the searching-information IMA brought. When the searching is completed, ISA submits the consequence to IMA, and IMA migrates the next host or goes back. Such an Agent society may provide more efficient information services.
