Based on the types of computers used in the library automation, the integrated library systems in this country are classified as multiuser-microcomputer systems microcomputer based LAN systems and middle-sized or minicomputer systems in this paper. Three examples of practical systems are used for the analytic and comparative study on the eight aspects such as system goal and practice, integration, data sharing, implementation techniques for bibliographic database, and multilingual processing. A comparison table on the performances and system functions of the three models is given in order to help the users in machine selection and system implementation.
In this paper, Delphi method was applied to bulid a rational, scientific, practical and quantitative evaluation criteria system for the integrated library systems. Many experts and specialists were consulted and their comments and sugestions were carefully analysed. The research procedures were explained in detail and the results promulgated.
The contents of bibliographic information, authority information and local holdings information in online catalogs are discussed. The relationships among the three catagories are analysed.
This article mainly deals with the definition, storage and retrieval methods of the hypertext, as well as the comparison analysis of the similarities and differences between the traditional databases and the hypertext systems.
In this paper, a small automatic indexing test system is presented, which is mainly designed to index Chinese documents of information science by using Foxbase+ on Compage 386 microcomputer. The indexing methods such as word indexing, subject indesing, word assignment indexing and word extraction indexing are explained in detail. The implementation procedures and main ideas of the system are also described.
The paper is based on author' s empiriogenic of using MEDLINE CD-ROM. The search software of four kinds MEDLINE CD-ROM (Include Silver Platter, Cambridge, EBSCO, and DIALOG) and their user interface are analysed. At the end of paper, the user' s interface of futuristic MEDLINE CD-ROM is predicted.
